Top Reasons You Need a Website Now!

My favorite Jamaican restaurant does not have a website. The best hamburger joint in the Washington DC area does not have a website. I refuse to promote a business that does not have a website. If I want to order food, I have to wait until I arrive at the restaurant, which is time consuming now because, “time is money”. What time does your business open up? Are you open for business on Saturdays? A friend of mine does an outstanding job with his lawn care business but, does not have a website and wants new customers. Why you need a website today, right now, this minute?

24-hour business

How would you like to be open 24 hours a day? Whatever you like to sell you can make it happen from your website with a few clicks of a mouse. That’s right, what if you opened up let’s say your homemade t-shirts shop with a cool looking “Obama for President” t-shirt to the international market. Not to mention an “Occupy Something” t-shirt, which would be a big seller, considering every country has a greedy 1%. With a website, you are open all day every day 365 days a year. If you need someone to contact you, have him or her send you an email and you can open up shop at your leisure. There may not be someone ready to talk at any time but if a potential customer is working late nights and decides they want information about your type of business then your website is always there, ready with the information that can be processed.

The best brochure

Build it now

Your website as a brochure can give people that warm and cozy feeling about doing business with you. People can  research your business at their own convenience. If you are a retail outlet, there may not be a need for a customer to into your store, just visit online. If you are a non-profit business or charity offering grants then you can put all of the information online about your cause. Save time and effort by directing people to your online brochure for information updates. Can you get referrals faster by having a brochure that speaks to your talking points?

Communication

With a website, you can communicate with anyone in the world for free. How many customers could you potential hear from? Could you be contacted by just adding an email address? Can you transfer money, documents, by using the internet and by linking from your website, of course? In addition, you can send a document from one side of the world to the other in a second. Who uses voicemail as the generations change? The speed of business could have you retiring early. It’s called email, or maybe Skype is your weapon of choice for delivering information.

Construction cost

A good website does not need to be expensive. With so many website builders available, not to mention the templates to get you started quickly. Between college kids looking to earn money and part time web designers looking to offset high gas prices, you can have something impressive up and running and just modify as you go. Make changes based on the money you have at the time. Many blog sites have been converted into websites and you can start for free and build as you go. WordPress and Blogger are your do it yourself kits.

Marketing

Are you running for county office? Are you sponsoring an event and need to get the word out? Reaching a large audience with traditional print advertising can be very costly. Imagine the time you could spend designing and working on printing leaflets, then sending them to everyone in your local area. Marketing is just the cost of doing business. With just a little bit of planning you can develop a website that will get your message to your entire fan club. Will your fan club someday stretch across the globe?

Competition

Guess what, your competition has a website that beats you to the punch. Your competition has no reason to lower prices, because they have soaked up the market by being accessible by the internet. The majority of people have internet access nowadays, and most people will shop around online before getting in direct contact with a business. What would happen if you had an increase in business, websites sales could create a positive cash flow?

 First point of contact

I know of a sports bar whose website could use some improvement, but the pictures of patrons having a great time made me want to visit. I also had a great time at this sports bar. These days a website serves as the first point of contact between you and your target market. Many consumers or clients will search for a company using search engines and will visit the website in order to get a feel for the business. If you travel to unknown locations as a tourist, you definitely have to research online. Having a website makes you easy to find and accessible.

Your website should not only look great, it should be easy to find and easy to use. Simple is often better with just a few color schemes. Make a plan to set yourself up for success using your own website.
